Paper clay

A putty made from pulped paper and a starch paste. Dries to a lightweight, carveable solid.

What you’ll make

Matte, textured, lightweight when dry. Paintable, sandable.

Flexible slots (flex around your material)

  • Fibre / powder

    Cellulose-rich powder200g dry pulp

    Fine, dry, ground-up plant matter. Acts as filler and body in composites and doughs.

    Examples Waste paper, banana pulp, apple pomace, cotton lint

Fixed ingredients

  • Flour or cornstarch paste · 300ml

Refinements and variations

  • Swap waste paper for banana peel pulp, apple pomace, or cotton rag pulp.
